Women’s Home Internationals for the Lady Milne Trophy

Congratulations to Scotland

The Scottish team of Abi Wilson, Sheila Adamson, Liz McGowan, Fiona McQuaker, Sam Punch and Paula Leslie (with Alan Goodman as npc) have won this year’s Lady Milne trophy, with England a close second.

Photos and fuller news hopefully to follow.

The Venue

Holiday Inn, Edinburgh

The Lady Milne returns to Edinburgh the weekend of April 13 - 15. Last time round was in 2013, when England lifted the trophy and they come to Edinburgh as holders, having won in Wrexham in April 2017 (pictured).

The venue is the Holiday Inn next to the Zoo at 132 Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh EH12 6UA. Many people will have played here before as we’ve used it several times in the recent past. It is easily accessible as it is on the route in from the airport or out from Waverley or Haymarket stations with the airport bus stopping right outside it from both directions.

The hotel uses its whole top floor (called The Academy) as a conferencing area with rooms of various sizes available. We have booked the whole area which means that as well as an Open and Closed Room and an office, each country will have their own room that they can use between matches or during matches when not playing. There is also a break-out area with comfortable seating and access to tea/coffee etc. It is not our intention to provide a Vu-graph theatre as the vast majority of people choose to watch at home on BBO but there is plenty of space in the Open Room for spectators. WiFi access is available throughout the hotel. All matches will be broadcast on BBO.
